Tiny Tip: Maximize Index Space

Here’s a quick and easy tip on maximizing index space in the Bullet Journal that I’ve developed over time.
Simply draw a line down the middle of the page and bam! You have more room to work in.
You can use this any way you’d like. You can start on the left side and once that side is done, move on to the right side.
I use each column differently. The left one is solely for collections and the right one is exclusively for dated entries. Doing it this way helps me find either type of page easily. I didn’t used to keep track of dated entries but I have it helpful to look back at what happened and what I did on specific days.
I use Leuchtturm1917 notebooks which already have the index built in. The index has a little column for the page numbers on the far left which I use for the collections. For the dated entries I put the page numbers to the right.
I guess it would make more sense to do it the opposite way for both…that way the collections have more room to ‘grow’ and you can easily add more page numbers to the right of them. Oh well, I just do it this way because it’s what I’ve been doing for the past 2-3 months. But now that I’ve written this and reflected, I’ll probably revise it in my next notebook! :)

That’s the great thing about the Bullet Journal, it’s a constant tweaking of little things to make it more effective for you.
Bonus tip #1:
You may have noticed the ‘x’ to the left of the collection entries. I place these next to collections that didn’t work out.
Bonus tip #2:
Whether you are or aren’t a Leuchtturm1917 notebook user, you might run out index space. It’s tricky figuring out how many pages to allocate to the index. I think in the videos Ryder has only one page set aside. Anyways, if this happens to you, don’t fret!
Simply make the last entry in your index be the next available page you have.

Sorry whoever you are!). The tip is genius! I highly recommend it if you find yourself in this bind.
Do you have any cool index hacks? I know some don’t even use the index! I’m burning through the notebooks so fast that the indexes are a good way to see what each contains.
